Today, the Iowa Democratic Party (IDP) officially announced Tess Seger as the new Communications Director for the organization.

“We are incredibly excited to bring Tess on board to help the party maintain open lines of communication with the press and the people of Iowa. Now more than ever, we are dedicated to transparency with everyone participating in the democratic process,” said Executive Director Kevin Geiken.

Seger joins the party from SKDKnickerbocker, a national strategic communications and political consulting firm, where she worked with veteran Democratic strategist Bill Burton to launch West Coast operations and advise federal and state campaigns across the country. A graduate of the George Washington University, she is originally from Portland, Oregon.

“As the granddaughter of Iowans on both sides of my family, the culture of this state shaped my upbringing,” said Seger. “The values of service, respect, and compassion passed down to me by my grandparents are the reason I am a Democrat, and they’re the reason I am so energized about joining the IDP at this moment when those values are under attack.”
